Dean of Students
The Dean of Students Office provides advocacy, problem resolution, and crisis intervention as well as programs and services to enhance the University experience for Illinois State students. Through a variety of services, solutions, and support, the Dean of Students Office helps students apply what they learn in the classroom to real-life practice. Whether interested in joining or starting a registered student organization, participating in cultural learning experiences, or seeking to develop leadership skills, the Dean of Students Office helps students find their way as they discover their passion at Illinois State.
In addition, an Associate Dean of Students is available each weekday from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. to listen, assist students in gathering information, serve as a referral source, and help students navigate through the University. Students most commonly visit with the Dean on Duty when they are anticipating or returning from an extended absence, are considering withdrawal from the current semester, are overwhelmed by a family or personal emergency, or have a concern about grading or other classroom issues. However, a student should not hesitate to ask other questions. No-cost legal advice and notary services are also available.
